I manually generate orders for some of my customers and then send them an invoice with a link to their “customer payment page”. I was running some test because customers were complaining of errors. I tried not clicking the agree to the terms and conditions and then hit place order. When I did that it scrolls back to the top of the page and I see the error that says “PLEASE CLICK THE BLUE “PAYPAL” BUTTON BELOW TO LOG INTO YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER.” but it shows the page is loading. After the page loads it will give the correct error “You must accept our Terms & Conditions.”

This can be confusing to our customers depending on how long it takes for the page to reload.

One added note. If I accept the terms and conditions and place an order the same PLEASE CLICK THE BLUE “PAYPAL” BUTTON BELOW TO LOG INTO YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER.” appears until the page reloads and shows the order has processed.

    Hi there!

Sorry to hear of this issue. I haven’t been able to replicate this. Based on the conditions in which this message is triggered by the plugin, however, it sounds like there may be a scripting conflict or error.

If you switch temporarily to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen and disable plugins besides WooCommerce core and PayPal Powered by Braintree, does that message still appear?

Is your site’s version of PHP up-to-date? I would recommend looking at things that might be interfering with timely page load and/or Javascript execution.

It looks like I’m running PHP 5.6. What version of PHP were you running when you did your test? I’ll have to wait to try removing plugins and themes. Don’t want to go into maintenance mode right now.

    Hey webharvest,

    PHP 5.6 is fine.

The issue is likely a theme or plugin conflict as Damien mentioned. Please try switching your site to the Twenty Seventeen or Storefront theme’s and then try again. If you still get the error, next disable all plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal powered by Braintree.

If either of those steps solves the problem, you’ll know there is a conflict. You can then begin reactivating everything, one at a time. Keep checking as you reactivate your theme/plugins to find which one is causing the issue. You will then want to reach out to the developer of whichever plugin/theme caused the issue.

If you still get this error when all other plugins are disabled and using the Twenty Seventeen theme, please open a new support ticket with us. You can open a ticket by going to http://www.WooCommerce.com, then click on Support > Helpdesk > Create a ticket > Free plugins.. Please make sure to include a temporary Administrator username and password with your message, so that our team can take a look at your site.
