    Hi,

Is there any way to set a custom og:image using WP Simple SEO? If not, do you plan to add this in a future release?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

There are no plans to add this to a future release of WP Simple SEO. It will be added to a paid Addon at a later date.

    Thanks.

It’s a shame that this option will be released as a paid add-on. I mean, there are others free plugins that provide it. I expect WP Simple SEO could be a proper Yoast alternative — simple, but not that much 🙂

    Anyway, thanks for your reply!

From our research, 92% of users don’t need to set custom og:image tags.

To clarify, WP Simple SEO outputs og:image tags, there is just no customization for it.

If customization is needed, disabling the Social section of the Plugin settings and using other options will give you the functionality you require, whether that’s paid addons or alternate, free plugins for social metadata. This is the route a minority of users happily take, whilst continuing to use WP Simple SEO.
