• This may sound like a simple question but I am hoping someone can help me learn how to find plugins. I found the link to the directory at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ But my problem is that often I will come across a plugin that I decided I may need or want later but I am looking for something else at that time. Since I don’t have the time right then to download the plugin as I am usually involved in something else, I jot the name of the plugin down. But more times than not, when I do have to time to go back to it I go into this page and type the name of the plugin in (exactly like I first saw it) but the search does not find that plugin for me. It will give me many pages of sometimes unrelated plugins to fish through.

It just happened to me again today. At one time I saw a plugin named “Duplicate Content Control.” When I went back to get it today, I typed it into the search box but the search did not come up with that particular plugin.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to find a specific plugin I am looking for? Any help is much appreciated.

  • Why not just bookmark the page?

I never even thought to do that!! Thank you figaro for your reply.

Meanwhile, do you know if there is a way that I can find the ones that I saw before? I am assuming the search field must not work for the name of the plugin since putting in the name doesn’t take me to the plugin.

I’ve always had better luck finding things using Google. Just use a logical search string and be sure to put wordpress and plugin in that string.
