    I’m trying to use the plugin for email alerts on new posts by category.
    When users subscribe no opt in email is sent. However, if I manually do a resend, then the email gets sent.
    When a new post is published, subscribers do not get an email but if I change the post to “draft” and re-publish, then the email is sent.
    Is there anything you can think of that would cause this behavior?

    Some background:
    1. I have 50 US states as categories
    2. Created a “compose” for each state
    3. Created a “Post notification” for each category(state)
    4. Email does goes out to admin when new post is published (but not to users without resend)
    5. Tried to use an SMTP plugin as you suggest in other posts but I’m using hosted WordPress on Godaddy and can’t get any of the plugins to work.
    6. I’m using the widget for subscriber sign up as the short code is limited to 255 characters and I can’t get all my categories in there (any thought on expanding that?)

    I’ve tried everything I can think of and I would really appreciate any help on this issue.

    Can you please confirm that Godaddy is not blocking your emails?

    Can you please have a re-check if all 50 compose and post notifications if they are linked properly?

    4. Email does goes out to admin when new post is published (but not to users without resend)

    Is admin assigned in new post notification or in one of the 50 post notification template? Check and compare what is the difference in settings between them.

    I’m using the widget for subscriber sign up as the short code is limited to 255 characters and I can’t get all my categories in there (any thought on expanding that?)

    I’m assuming you are also using Group Selector for showing categories on form?

    Godaddy is not blocking the email. There is no trigger or attempt to send email that I can see when someone subscribes or a new post is posted that matches a subscriber.

    When I resend the email conformation for a new subscriber it sends the email.
    When I change a post to “Draft” and then re-publish, the mail gets sent immediately.

    Seems to be an issue with the initial email trigger maybe?

    I’ve rechecked all compose and post notifications and they are correct.

    I misspoke about the admin mail, it also only gets sent on resend.

    I am using Group Selector to show categories on form.

    Also I have the same issue on both my staging site and production.
    I have also tried disabling all plugins with no success.

    I really like the product and would love to find a way to make it work.
    Please let me know if you need any more information that might help resolve the issue.

    Which version of Email Subscribers and Group Selector you are using? Can you confirm that they are updated to the latest version.
    If not, update them and then have a re-check.
