• Help!!!
Since I mirgated to version 2.6.1 (DE), i have real trouble with my pages. In fact, I get a 403 code (Access forbidden) when I try to update the sidebar.php file.

I also get error messages when I update a Post and try to save it: 403

I suppose I didnt give the right permissions to one or more of the files in wordpress…

Can anyone give me a clue what files that could be…????

I changed the folders to 755 and all the files to 644 and yet it’s still not working…..

    TX alot !!!

Tx alot, but how does one do that?

    admin – settings – permalinks

Ok, I had found that, but there is no feature to update the permaleinks, is there ? I can only choose how my posts should be displayed…

I think I miss a file .htaccess, is that possible ?

Admin – settings – permalinks is all about the permalinks.

Click on there then click “defalt” and “update” then go back to your normal permalink style and click “update”.

Tx, I just did that, but no result… still get the 403 and 500 messages…. I just uploaded an Empty .htaccess file, cos mine is somehow lost…. could that be the reason ? what to do?
Is there anywhere a default .htaccess file that i can download?
(In between i migrated to v2.7, but problem still persits)

    ok step by step
create an empty .htaccess with a basic editor like Notepad
upload it and chmod to 666
    go to permalink settings
    choose structure
    save
chmod .htaccess to 644 for security
    delete site cookies
    clear browser cache
    should work

Thx alot Samboll for your kind help, I followed your instructions, but the problem persits..
Maybe the caus lies somwhere else?

    Here again what doesn’t work:

All features seem to work normally, but if “editing” en existant post, when clicking “saving changes” i get a 403 message (curiously my changes are considered even though i get the error)

The same happens if I choose to update the sidebar.php file in the editor… (other files like the stylesheet acan be altered without a problem)

File attributes yhould be ok for files and folders… so I really don’t know anymore what to do….
