input locations at event creation: filter function changed?

We have about 500 locations stored in our events-calendar-database.

When creating new events, we used to enter the location by just typing a few characters into the input field, and those did not necessarily have to be the first characters of the location. E.g. entering ‘ashing’ would bring up ‘Washington’.

Apparently this has changed after a recent update, because now it only shows locations that match the first letter entered. In other words: in order to find ‘Washington’ I would have to start with a ‘W’. That makes it a lot harder for us to enter locations, because there are a lot of complex names in our database and the first letter is not always clear/known…

Is there a reason for this change? Is it a bug? And most importantly: can it be changed back? 😉
