Bizarre Periodic Site Crash on Adding Hyperlink

One of my bloggers, who adds lots of links to lots of posts, has had a very strange thing happen twice now. In the visual page editor, he selects some text and clicks the chain icon to hyperlink it. The popup window comes up, but it’s empty, and freezes that tab of his firefox browser. Not even the entire browser. So no biggie right?

BUT…the seemingly impossible kicker/mystery is that this little freeze in one tab of one user’s browser renders my entire site unavailable to anybody. Crashes the sucker.

HUH?!? I know…lay off the crack pipe right? Seriously, though, he sits right next to me and both times we confirmed that the site was down to us and a few friends across the country. As soon as he closes the tab within firefox where he was working (that’s right, not even the entire browser) the site is available again.

I’m not too worried since it’s so rare and so easily resolved, but wanted to see if anybody might have any thoughts on this.
