How many plugins are too many?

    Hi all,

    I have a site that uses 42 plugins and I think I will still use more plugins in future.

    I am scared that I am using way too many plugins.

    Is this a big number or how many plugins are too many? I’m afraid that it may be a performance hit or too heavy on my server or too risky for security.

    There are not a maximum number of plugins you can use but I assure you that 42 plugins are too many to use on a website. It is also true that some plugins can be much heavier than others and this can slow down the load on the web.

    We highly recommend trying to keep your plugin count to less than 12. We’ve noticed that the speed of the site, the security as well as the maintenance of the site is much more cumbersome if you’re running more than 12 or so.

    You are using too much plugins in your site. I think this issue can affect the speed of your site. The less the plugins the faster the site will be. So try to remove some unused plugins from your site.
