Pulling headlines onto home page

    My blog is one level below my home page. I’d like to be able to pull out linked headlines for the top 3 or 4 entries onto my homepage. I assume this can be done with some PHP coding…

    Does anyone have this code, or is it residing somewhere on this site?

    I’m in the same situation as you. My news entries won’t be displayed on my home page, but I’d like to be able to show a certain number of headlines on it. I would like to be able to specify which category (or all categories), the amount of headlines, as well as be able to truncate the headlines to a specific number of characters:

    I hope someone can help. I’m very new to WordPress, I just started a couple hours ago 🙂

    Sticky Posts feature will place the new or published post at the top of the front page without changing the timestamp. In WordPress 2.7 Sticky Posts is a built in feature which has Sticky Posts check box on the write screens and also in Quick Edit screen.
