Help with comment behaviour

    This is a two-part question.

    First of all, I have a member who frequently tries to post comments while not signed in and his comments are always held in the moderation queue. The Wordfence setting: “Hold anonymous comments using member emails for moderation” is NOT checked. I (an admin) don’t have this problem if I post while logged out, however this member does share an IP address with another administrator. Could this have something tp do with it? How can I fix this?

    Secondly, I have had two reports from visitors unable to post comments in the last few days. One keeps getting a 404 error when submitting their comment and the other keeps getting a message that they must ensure they “have the correct site” before posting. Could these problems be linked to Wordfence? I can find nothing in the site logs that would explain these errors.

    It appears right after:
    POST /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
    so clearly related to a visitor posting a comment.

    Hi,
    Actually, both issues seem to be not related to Wordfence, regarding the first one, I think it could be another plugin messing with comments moderation functions, or one of the WordPress comments moderation options, which I recommend to double check them.

    For the second issue, again, it has nothing to do with Wordfence, disabling other installed plugins and switching back to the default WordPress theme would be a good start to debug this issue.

    Finally, “wordfence_logHuman” is used while checking if the visitor to your website is human or bot, then report it back to Wordfence Live Traffic log and other plugin’s modules.

    wfalaa – is there any way to filter out those “wordfence_logHuman” entries automatically in the Live View (feature request!) 🙂

    It really is pointless information to have in the live feed since it’s WF self-generated call for essentially WF purposes only!

    @bluebearmedia Actually, URLs with “wordfence_logHuman” query parameter shouldn’t be there in “Live Traffic” log in the first place, a plugin or theme conflict might cause this issue, like a plugin with “changing relative URLs” function for example.

    The URL @hungrynow mentioned was logged in the server raw requests log, where every single request must be logged there for sure.

    wfalaa – I know this has come up before, but I have many clients sites that are showing the “wordfence_logHuman” entries in the live feed – with most of them having minimal plug-ins!

    Having said that, I’ve noticed there are far less of these entries with more recent versions of WF than there were in the past…

    Ah, I see. It would be helpful if you can share with me a couple of screenshots showing these URL structures, you can just email them to “alaa [at] wordfence [dot] com”, because in that old thread here, I can see the URLs were displaying in a strange structure, so the plugin/theme conflict approach was the closest one in that case.
