Doesn’t display gallery, only list

I’m allowing users to see the other photos that have been uploaded, but it’s not working as expected. The default setting is to display the images as a list, which works ok, except there is no pagination. It’s just one massive scrolling list. If I click on the button to change the display to a gallery, all of the images disappear. Any help with this issue?
