+1 for this, with several (but not all) of my sites affected. It is also troubling that the plugin has allowed the update to have long passed without revision.

Same here. When wordpress changed to v4.8, the hide backend feature went into an infinite loop (but only in Chrome!) – you have to delete the logged-in cookie in the browser to get back in. Comes back a few days later if you don’t log out in the mean time. It’s fixed in the pro version but not in the free version.
6.3 just released and changelog says it fixes this.
