Twitter Post Image Issue

    Hi,

    I am still unable to get an image from a post to post to Twitter?

    Here’s an excerpt which did work well, way back last year :

    This post was sent to twitter and also showed the image from the url banner path. Now, since snap updates, only the excerpt shows?

    Some some reason, I am now unable to get this to work again as before i.e. show the banner embedded within the post?

    Also, it seems SNAP is sending showing ‘Twitter Cards’ but only of those linked directly to post url but not of those which are directly linked to remote sites?>

    Any ideas please?

    Hi,

    I should also add that some posts do actually show a twitter card on some, but not on others?

    A little stuck as you can see 🙂

    SNAP has nothing to to with Twitter cards. Twitter adds cards by itself based on special metatags and only for approved domains. SNAP can’t control that.

    Hi,

    So Twitter posts twittercards, works fine IF the URL is absolute.

    However, IF the image url is an affiliate link i.e https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?s=513659&v=4433&q=164972&r=24456

    It will not post the image?

    So looking at your site, I cannot see a solution?

    If you can help me with this, I can then proceed to buy the premium version as I will see it works as I require.

    I am not sure what are you asking here. Are you asking why Twitter can’t grab an image from affiliate URL? We can’t answer that, only Twitter tech support can.

    SNAP just gives the URL to Twitter. That’s it. Twitter takes the URL and internally generates a Twitter Card for it. Only they can tell you why it’s not working.
