I didn’t realize that the emulator always goes to the homepage. So you have to scroll all the way down to a Read More….

    sorry about that.

    Hey @considerthis1,

1: It depends on the links, If you give AMP links it will be open up in AMP.

And regarding 2 and 3, thanks for your suggestion, I will ask this to my team about how to solve this.

    Hi,

Okay, but isn’t that a problem? I mean, if I put amp links in my regular WordPress pages, then desktop would open to Amp? right?

So either way, a site visitor gets a sort of rude switch… either AMP to WordPress Mobile, or WordPress desktop to AMP…

It seems like it would be a very tricky coding problem.

I wish I could donate this month, but this month and next are extremely tricky due to having to pay the lawyer who did my foreclosure trial for me, plus next month I have to pay hefty hosting costs…

    Sigh.

But then, after that … πŸ™‚

By the way, I didn’t think #3 was a suggestion.

I saw “Below the Loop” in my widgets, and I wondered how I’m supposed to use it, or if I’m supposed to use it at all…

    Hey @considerthis1,

Let me give you an example for the links.
Suppose you write an article and it contains links of different websites, and those links will take you exactly where you want to go, right?

Now let’s talk about AMP, You want those links to get converted into AMP links as well right? What if those links don’t have AMP installed on them? They will show 404 to the users. This is the reason we have not converted incontent links to AMP links.
If you are sure that those links have AMP then you can use our Custom AMP Editor. Just copy the whole content in it and replace those links with AMP links in Custom AMP Editor.
After that both your normal site and AMP site will point to the correct locations

Let me know if that helps you or not.

And regarding the Ads, if you can show me where exactly you want to put Ads I can suggest you.

    Regards
    Marqas

    Hi Marqas,

    πŸ™‚

No, I don’t want all links converted to AMP. I want only the links to my site pages served as AMP.

Google tends to get a bit freaked out when you switch stuff so that a visitor might get confused. My thought is that a visitor lands on my AMP page, then goes to one of the links to more information on my site, but that page is Responsive rather than AMP, so the entire layout is different, and it’s slower…

The above is one of my long pages. I would like ads farther down the page. I tried using the “custom” ad format as suggested in another topic, but it displayed on my desktop pages in some instances, so that I had my desktop ad and my AMP ad on top of one another. I’m not sure why it didn’t always display. At the same time, it appeared to Not display in AMP.

    πŸ™‚

    Looking forward πŸ™‚

    Hi Marqas,

As an aside, I never understood the custom AMP editor. Thank you for explaining.

I don’t think it’s something I can use, though. With my brain injury I have a hard time remembering things, so if I corrected a typo on a page, I might forget to correct it in the custom AMP editor, then my pages would no longer be the same, which tends to irritate Google.

    Hey @considerthis1,

That’s strange. Is it happening everytime? Those Ads should come only in AMP. I don’t understand why they are coming on Non AMP as well.

Please do check and let us know.

Maybe I didn’t write about the ads as clearly as I should have.

Some time ago a man on the forum showed how you could use the AMP Ad code anywhere in the html of a page. I mean putting it into the TEXT view of a page, rather than the VISUAL.

I did that on a lot of my pages and it seemed to work, to have AMP ads where I wanted them in my AMP pages. But, then … when I went back to some of my pages in desktop, the ads were appearing one on top of the other, stacked.

    Hey @considerthis1,

I apologize for the delay in response.

That’s not the standard way of adding Ads. Please remove it and use our Ad slots, it will resolve your issues.

I remove them as I find the pages I used them on.

Clearly it doesn’t resolve all issues, just the double ad appearance.

I still need more ad slots for my long pages…
