• Hello all, I have a quick SEO question. In google my individual blog posts do not index, however, my front index page always does. Anyone have any idea why this might be?

    Thanks!!

Unfortunately there is never any guarantee that all your sites will be indexed. At least your home page is listed – many people struggle to get that far 🙂

You might also want to check your robots.txt file, to make sure you are not specifically blocking the google search spiders for some reason.

There are lots of tips out there – just search for info on getting google to index your site.

    # BEGIN XML-SITEMAP-PLUGIN
    Sitemap: http://thecount.com/sitemap.xml.gz
    # END XML-SITEMAP-PLUGIN

    User-agent: *

    Disallow: /wp-includes
    Disallow: /wp-content/plugins
    Disallow: /wp-content/cache
    Disallow: /wp-content/themes

    Allow: /wp-content/uploads

    # Google Image
    User-agent: Googlebot-Image
    Disallow:
    Allow: /*

    # Google AdSense
    User-agent: Mediapartners-Google*

    # Internet Archiver Wayback Machine
    User-agent: ia_archiver
    Disallow: /

    # digg mirror
    User-agent: duggmirror

I think that looks fine 🙂

what do you think about blocking feeds, comments and trackbacks?

I do not know of any good reason to block any of those.
