Error: can’t back up with Updraftplus

Hi all,
I just installed a fresh copy of the plugin, but when I try to take a backup it hangs for a moment at “requesting start of backup,” then the following error appears on a popup:

Unexpected response
Fatal Error
Failure in Wincache[6840] allocate_memory: segment free list corrupt in C:…\wp-content\plugins\updraftplus.php on line 196

Any ideas would be appreciated.
