Image Display issues

WordPress 4.7.4 is installed and seemingly working fine, with a Themler custom template installed, but have an issue with images added to pages.

When I upload a photo via “Media”, and insert the photo into a page I have several issues:

1. When I try to add hyperlink to another page to the image, save the page then view the page, I click on the image to verify that it’s going to the appropriate page, via the link I created, and a seemingly “inherent” wordpress gallery function opens up, and the image’s external link does not work.

2. I have installed “Gallery Bank” eco edition, and when I upload images into the gallery, then add the gallery (using their short code) into a page’s content, the gallery shows up just fine until I click on an image. Here, the image opens in the same “inherent” gallery as in example one only this time, the gallery bank gallery opens underneath the inherent gallery. Only when you x out of the inherent gallery can you then peruse the gallery contents.

I am not a coder. I’m a basic user. While this issue does have to do with a plugin, it appears that it’s an issue within the basic installation of WordPress.
