Independent Publisher 2 – Social menu?

How do I get a social menu?
Under Appearance > Menus there is only one menu position called “Header”. So how do I show social links/icons as in the demo?

@rebecka Independent Publisher 2 is not the same as the original Independent Publisher theme—it’s a fork of the original theme designed for WordPress.com users. The original IP theme was published here on WordPress.org and then Automattic took the original theme and created a version for WordPress.com.
