    Hi,

I turned off automated scans for a website with many pages until I could get it on more powerful hosting. Now I can’t seem to get automated scanning working again.

Under Wordfence -> Options, “Enable automatic scheduled scans” is checked. I don’t see any other relevant option, but on the Dashboard, “Scheduled scans” still says disabled — and the scans don’t run (I waited a day to be sure, but no dice).

    What have I missed?

    Thanks!

I have problems with it doing automatic scans when it’s turned off. The WP Cron is proving that.

This plugin is eating up my entire hosting load. My sites have gone down for so many hours for months now, that I’ve lost all traffic to my sites.

There are serious issues with WordFEnce & I’m just really disappointed they don’t care enough to fix it.

My website coder has written to them here & no real advice.

I just wrote them last night & I see no response.

While your issue is different than mine, it’s really not b/c it’s all about the scans.

    Hi @menken
Please check “Cron Jobs” section under (Wordfence > Tools => Diagnostics), can you see any of “wordfence_start_scheduled_scan” entries there?

Also, do you have any caching plugin installed? or a server side object caching?

    Thanks.

    Hi, thank you for helping!

No, I do not see any such entries. wordfence_daily_cron, wordfence_hourly_cron and wordfence_email_activity_report are all listed, but no. I have other sites on a different server with nearly identical configuration, and they have that entry each day.

We’re using Cloudflare with no local caching.

    What do you suggest?

    Hi,
Could you please try saving any other option in “Wordfence > Options” and make sure that it’s getting saved properly? it could be something wrong with the plugin’s configurations table in the database.

Also, go to (Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics) and scroll down the page till “Send Report by Email” and send the report to “alaa [at] wordfence [dot] com”, make sure to include your forum username, I will take a look at this report and let you know my findings.

    Thanks.
