When I set a badge and update it works.
But then I cannot change it anymore to ‘none’ or other badge.
I can select ‘none’ or other badge but when updating the badge it is set back to what it was.

    Same problem.
This happened after updating to Woocommerce 3 (3.04).
Correction… the problem emerged after updating to WordPress 4.7.4.
Badges cannot be changed… once initialized.
The update and save… reverts to starting badge, whatever you pick as new.
    Please help!
