Also any way to access the wordfence version prior to the latest release? I am not sure but the latest release might not be working for me.
Hi @bethplummer
Would be helpful if you can share this “odd code” in wp-config.php file by sending it to “alaa [at] wordfence [dot] com”.
Why you think the latest version isn’t working for you? any other problem despite the possibility of not catching that odd code in wp-config.php?
In general, you can access “PREVIOUS VERSIONS” by visiting the “Advanced” plugin view from here.
Thanks.
Hi, I sent via email. I am just trying to trouble shoot as to why this happened. Thanks!
When you connect to your website via FTP/SFTP, can you see this file (/wp-content/themes/favicon_71c84e.ico)? because the code injected in wp-config.php seems to be importing this file!
I highly recommend going through steps mentioned in “How to Clean a Hacked WordPress Site using Wordfence“, enabling “high sensitivity” scan and almost all the options under “Scans to include” should help in detecting this file, if not, then please email this file to “samples [at] wordfence [dot] com”.
Thanks.
