Firstly, thanks for using my plugin 🙂
It should work fine for what you’re after, I use it for WooCommerce product photos.
Please try deactivating all plugins except SVG Support and WooCommerce and revert to a standard WP theme such as twentyseventeen. Test and it should work. Then reactivate one by one testing in between to find what is causing the issue.
You may also be able to see something in the console while there is errors.
Let me know how you go.

Maybe a stupid question, but if I deactivate all my plugins, will I lose all the progress I made on my site?
I tested it on my other website, but it doensn’t work either.
I of course can not hold any liability if you do lose something, but plugins usually (and should) store their data in the database, so you shouldn’t lose anything, it will be there when reactivating.
To avoid issues, you should be using a duplicate staging site anyway.
Did you check the console for errors?

After taking a quick look, it seems to be your theme.
Try testing with a standard theme by activating twentyseventeen and then uploading an SVG.
I think the current active theme is handling SVG / Mime Types in their own way which is why they display as grey with titles. Mine will just look like any other image with a thumbnail.

I activated twentysixteen as a them, uploaded a svg bit it still doens’t recognize it as an image. Same problem.
The theme has a custom plugin called “TheGem Theme Elements”, this is where the conflict is.
They handle Mime Types differently which is where the restriction lies.
When using twentysixteen theme and deactivating that plugin, upload and display of SVG files works fine. You can see the tester one I uploaded.
I would suggest talking with the theme developers and asking them to support my plugin SVG Support.
Additionally, as a work around, you could deactivate the plugin “TheGem Theme Elements”, upload all your SVG files, then reactivate it and they will show up correctly in your library.
I also tested adding product featured image with that plugin deactivated and it works.
See the latest product called TEST. You will see the SVG in the editor and the front end.
So it is most definitely that plugin causing conflicts.
PS. I have left the plugin deactivated and the TEST product there and the tester SVG file. Just to let you know exactly what I’ve done and what to remove.
