404 Error

    Hello all,

    I’ve recently downloaded a Wordprees plugin to detect and redirect 404 errors but I have noticed over the past 2 days of using the plugin that I consistently keep getting the same 404 error but with different IP addresses clicking on the link: /services/event-security/tel:+441212190102/. It happened 12 times yesterday with l2 different IP addresses! does anyone know why this keeps happening?

    If I click on the link located bottom left that goes like Tel: 0121 219 0102 I get Skype popping up, so that’s normal. What 404 link you’re referring to?

    Yes that is exactly how the link should be but for some reason it looks like different people or bots (from differnt IP addresses) are clicking on the link “/services/event-security/tel:+441212190102/” and every time it happens WordPress tells me that someone has clicked the link and the link doesn’t work and automatically redirects it to the homepage because otherwise the user or bot will get a 404 error but I can’t understand why I’m getting so many error logs in 1 day from a random url all with differnt IP addresses.

    Because you’re under some kind of bot attack? 🙂 Just don’t worry about it, it can’t hurt your website. You should see logs from my forum… 😀
