Hello. Just installed this version on a new site. When Dropbox is selected, the authentication process never occurs. Conversely, if you select OneDrive, for example, authentication does occur.

I then went back to a site with version .35 installed with Dropbox auth already working. After updating that site to .37, Dropbox backups started failing.

    Thank you,
    Ryan

    Hi,

This works for me. I just made a fresh/blank WP install, installed UD 1.12.37, went to the ‘Settings’ tab, chose Dropbox, saved settings, and immediately up popped the authentication link – both in the foreground, and as a dashboard notice:

    Dropbox

What steps should I take to reproduce the problem you’re seeing?

After updating that site to .37, Dropbox backups started failing.

Please can you describe the symptoms of the problem on this site

    David

    New site:

    1. Sign into Dropbox
    2. Deactivate all plugins except Updraft
    3. Click on Dropbox icon
    4. Click on Save Changes
    5. “Your Settings Have Been Saved” message appears

Unlike previous versions, there is no auth dialog box, similar to what your screenshot shows.

Getting this on sites that had .35 and have been upgraded to .37. Cannot drop auth and re-auth:

“Dropbox/Curl error: Error in call to API function “auth/token/revoke”: Must provide HTTP header “Authorization” or URL parameter “authorization”. (Dropbox_BadRequestException) (line: 216, file: /home/accuritp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Dropbox2/OAuth/Consumer/Curl.php)”

I don’t mean to pile on…just giving you as much info as I can.

Just went to another site’s Dropbox account to verify backups. Backups are not completing and the UpgraftPlus directory on Dropbox is displaying the following:

“There was a problem completing this request.”

Adding all that together, it sounds like there’s a problem with your Dropbox. I’d suggest asking Dropbox support about the error message you see when you go to Dropbox, as it sounds like everything’s failing because of that root issue.

The only change in code that interacts with Dropbox in the recent .37 release was in a fragment that handles the resumption of already-begun uploads. None of your issues relate to that, so I’m pretty sure that if you returned back to .35 (which you can download from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/updraftplus.1.12.35.zip) – you’d have the same problems still. i.e. The upgrading thing is just a timing coincidence.

I’ll keep tinkering, but each of my sites has a different Dropbox account.

Okay, think I’m good. After the .37 update, I had to use the “After you saved your settings…” link, under Authenticate with Dropbox to get things going again.

Something is definitely wrong BEFORE it even gets to Dropbox. If you look at the images, you’ll see the issue. Again, I’ve killed caches and plugins.

Do you have a plugin installed which removes versionning from plugin resources (such as JavaScript files)? I’m guessing that there’s one of those, and that as a result, a previous version’s JavaScript is being loaded.

    (@ryanllogan)

No really sure, but as my best guess..I performed the following. Same result.

    1. Autoptimize > Clear Cache
    2. Web Host Caching > Clear
    3. Disable all plugins except Updraft

Then…I noticed .38 dropped. I did a little dance trying to get that update installed. Afterwards…

    1. Switched off Dropbox to Email for backup method
    2. Switched back to Dropbox

    Still broken.

Do things improve if you use the “Wipe Settings” button in the ‘Advanced Tools’ tab?

    Thread Starter ryanllogan

    (@ryanllogan)

    1. Wipe Settings
    2. Click Dropbox icon
    3. The missing dropbox info appears!! A link says “After you have saved your settings (by clicking Save Changes…”
    4. Click Save Changes
    5. Click on the link mentioned in Step 3
    5. I’m redirected back to the Current Status tab and we’re still broken

    all other plugins remain deactivated

    we’re still broken

What in particular is broken at this step?

    Thread Starter ryanllogan

    (@ryanllogan)

    5. I’m redirected back to the Current Status tab
    6. I go back to the Settings tab
    7. All Dropbox info is removed again

Just did a fresh install of .38 on a new site. Same results as my previous post.

I’m not a developer, but is there any chance this is PHP version related?

The sites where there are no issues are running PHP 7.1. On the sites where things are broken, PHP results shown below.

    Current PHP version: 5.6.29-1+deb.sury.org~precise+1
