    Hi all,

My problem seems very simple. I create the attributes for my variable product and sort them alphabetically. When saved, woo reorders them, and in my drop down list are shown in the order i typed them.
I have set everything in custom display and by name but the result always come up the same. In the attributes saves them alphabetically but not in my site.

    Thank you

  • There are two default sort order dropdowns. The first one you come to on the Attributes setup page controls the default sort order for any new attributes you create, but it doesn’t affect the default sort order for existing attributes.

To do that, you need to hover over the attribute name in the list on the right of the attributes screen. “Edit” will then show. Click that and on the next screen you can set the default sort order for that attribute only.

If you have several existing attributes you will need to go through them one-by-one.

thank you for your answer first of all.

I am not fluent in English so if i understand what you said i think that i have done everything and still the same result.

I have only 1 attribute which has multiple terms 100+ and i have created the variables. I want these terms, which are in my drop down list in my site, to be arranged alphabetically. I have tried everything and still appear in a random sort order in my site.

A small walk through would be appreciated.

    Ok, i have found it.

When you create the attribute and add the terms you need, you must sort the terms by name.

Then go to add new product –> set the attributes –> add the terms –> and save.

Create the desired variables and that’s it . The order goes randomly when you add any other information in the product set up. You need to add the information needed only in each variable created to save the sort order.

Hope that it wasn’t too confusing.

    Sure:
    – Dashboard > Products > Attributes
    – find the attribute in the list of attributes on the right hand side of the page
    – hover over the attribute name: this will make “Edit” show up
    – click “Edit”
    – set the default sort order to “Name”
    – click “Update”
    – your variations should now be in alphabetical order

If you still have the problem, please post the url to this product’s page.
