Do you mean the default gallery? If so then it does not have such feature as this is just an image slider.

I see a lot of css in there Greg. I was hoping to just max out what you have in there.
This will be really hard to do as changing the slider dimension will be changing how the slides are moved and it is easy to break this slider, i would discourage modifying the slider CSS.

I ended up finding a plugin that works after reverting it to the wordpress gallery with your snippett: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-lightbox/
