• Good afternoon, I am having an issue with a WordPress site that I am trying to fix for a client and have not been able to find a solution for it yet so I thought I would put it out there and see if anyone has had the same problem. The client was trying to make updates to the content of the site and the changes do not appear, simply trying to update some links. It seems also that at the same time the static front page created using the Revolution slider also stopped working and shows the content of a completely different page, however this static front page still shows the title of the page that should be there (Welcome). When I add /home after the url, the page that should be static appears. I also set the static page to other pages on the site with the same result. Also all edits are being done in a child of the theme Lawyeriax. This feels like it could be a parent/ child relationship issue but I am not sure. Below you will find a link to the site that should show the static page followed by a link to the page that should be there as I have mentioned. Below I have also listed the things I have done trying to fix the issue, I may have missed a few things, I have spent quite a bit of time on this so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Cleared most of the old unused files from the hosting
    2. Tried to directly edit the database and the site crashed then restored it
    3. Removed and replaced a conflicting plugin “amr shortcode any widget”
    4. Scanned with Wordfence, found and removed or restored about 85 files that it detected
    5. Updated the theme to the most current one as well as updating the core of WordPress
    6. Contacted the hosting company to make sure things were not being cached on their end and they were not
    7. I added some code to the functions.php file that would stop a redirect if it was happening, with no effect
    8. I have also deactivated all of the plugins to see if it would fix the issue with no result
    9. I installed the site on a test hosting account (where it is the parent and no child) and the static front page works and I have not been able to break it to recreate the issue.
    10. I have reviewed the site on both IE and Chrome using a PC. I then reviewed it on mobile (Samsung Note 4) and the correct page is displayed, very strange.

  • Not following you. The slider page works fine and you call that out as the static page.

It seems also that at the same time the static front page created using the Revolution slider

Is this supposed to be the static page? It does not have a slider but looks fine.

followed by a link to the page that should be there
