• Hello all,

I am attempting to build a WordPress site for company employees to use. I want to host the site myself and I’ve already installed WordPress and XAMPP and both seem to be working. When I log into my local host, I can access the website.

That being said, what I really need the is the availability of this page on other machine for our employees but I do not want just anyone being able to see the website.

That brings me to my first question: are there plug ins available for WordPress that restrict access to sites with log in screens?

If so, how do I configure my XAMPP to Broadcast my website so it can be accessed by other machines while hosting it locally myself?

    Any info would be helpful

    DT

  • There are a lot of plugins you can use to restrict content based on membership accounts. Check out the plugins section to find the one that will work best for you https://wordpress.org/plugins-wp/search/membership/

As far as broadcasting your site, if you can see you site with a domain that’s not ‘localhost’ so for example “companyname.local” then your server is configured correctly. You will need to add that domain to the company network DNS and point it your local server.
