Error trying to update profile

I am just beginning with WP and just wanted to edit my profile and after I enter a new password and click the Update Profile button, it takes me to a Not Found page – “the requested URL(my WP URL)/(EmptyReference!) was not found on this server.” There must be something that I have not installed properly. Does anyone have a clue?
