    Hi,

okay here’s the deal. I decided to get rid of my old WP and go with a fresh install of WP on my web host server. I have the old WP files saved to my computer. So Now I just need to know where the post are located so I can restore my post from my previous WP blog.

  • the posts are stored inside the/a database. did you do a backup of the database?

and keep in mind, you cannot always just import posts from an earlier version of wp in to a brand new one. There have been database schema changes so, for instance, posts from a 2.0.x blog arent going to import into a database thats been set up for 2.6.2

Restoring old WP Posts with comments, categories, tags, users, etc. can be done either through:
    1. database backup OR
    2. XML backup

Ahhh well. Guess it’s time to start over because I deleted them. Ironically my cpanel still says I have the databases. hmm…

then you didnt delete them, did you?

you can do what you want to do, but as I said, depending on the older version, youre probably going to want handle things a bit different than you previously described.

Its not a simple process, but it can be done.
