After upgrading to version 1.4.3, the plugin has stopped working.

The error message I get is
Unable to write custom rules to your .htaccess. Is this file writable?
No mod is being applied.

I was forced to remove the plugin.

What could be the problem? It worked before.
And what is the solution?

Hi,
The plugin require to make some changes on your .htaccess file, however it appear is not being writable anymore. Can you ftp in and check the file permission? Make it writable again and activate the plugin.

The file permission is “644”, but the plugin still does not work.

Can you go to plugin interface and click Save once? It will attempt to re-save the rewrite rules.
