Hi all! I’m pretty new to the forums, but I couldn’t anything related to this topic.

Just recently whenever I go to my login page (using the wp-admin at the end of the url) my dashboard immediately pops up. Once I click on a link such as “Pages” or “Media” it then takes me to the login screen where I login to proceed. I even clicked on “Updates” and it took me to that page WITHOUT logging in.

This just started happening this past week. The only change I’ve made is installing and activating a new plugin, but I tried deactivating that and logging out, clearing my cache/history and logging back in and it still took me to the dashboard.

So what’s wrong? Any ideas?? I’m not a wordpress guru, (if that’s not obvious), or code savvy so layman’s terms would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

    – Try flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches (including past history…). Not just your browser, but any op cache or content network cache as well such as Cloudflare. If your host provider has a “Purge Varnish” option or if you can ask your provider to flush memcache on your server.

    – make sure browser setting is not set to saving your login info.

Thanks for your quick reply! But, I’m not sure how to do any of that. :/ Is there a step-by-step that you could point me towards?

@gere47jc, I checked the website you mentioned in another topic, newlifescottsdale.org, and noticed from a public DNS lookup that just as @t-p indicated, you’re using the SiteLock TrueShield WAF/CDN. SiteLock TrueShield has configurable caching behavior that may be playing a role in the behavior you’re describing, however it is more likely that your browser is to blame for the behavior. If you click on the link in @t-p’s post (here it is again, click here), it will take you to a website with step-by-step instructions on clearing your browser cache.

Just to cover the bases in case that doesn’t resolve the issue, you can modify your site’s caching behavior from the SiteLock dashboard by following these steps:
    1. Login to your SiteLock dashboard.
    2. Click “Settings” on the left of your screen.
    3. Near the middle of your screen click “TrueShield Settings” and select “Performance” from the menu that drops down.
    4. In the Performance section locate the large red button labeled “Purge Cache” to clear your site cache.

If you are unable to login to your dashboard or your level of service does not include editing performance settings, please call or email SiteLock and we’ll be happy to adjust your SiteLock account preferences on your behalf.

@logankipp Thank you for your help. I did clear the cache from Safari and “Purge Cache” in Sitelock….still no luck. I’m also having trouble with the latest sermon showing up on my homepage and in the Sermon list on the back end, though I added it multiple times, (it shows up on the Sermons page, just not the home page). Could all this just be some kind of bug maybe? Either with wordpress or malware?

@gere47jc, do you happen to be using any caching plugins like W3 Total Cache? That’s another common suspect in this type of behavior. Run through your plugins to see if any of them are caching plugins. If you aren’t able to locate any, consider temporarily deactivating all plugins to see if that resolves the issue (this is often the answer to many WordPress-related issues). You can then investigatively reactivate them one by one to locate the culprit.

@logankipp, I do have WP Super Cache which, when I “Test Cache” it states that “The pages do not match! Timestamps differ or were not found!” I’ll try disabling it, clearing caches again and see what happens.

@logankipp, that was it. Deactivated the WP Super Cache and cleared browser’s cache as well as through SiteLock. Opened the /wp-admin page with no troubles and everything else is as it should be, (sermons showing up, etc.).
Thank you so much for your help!

    @gere47jc my pleasure!
