• There seems to be a full-blown attack on my site with multiple attempts to login using {login} as the username.
Needless to say, WordFence blocked it after repeated attempts.
Then I added ‘{login}’ to my blocked username list. Now it blocks the IP immediately.
But this attack seems to be coming from different IPs in different countries.
WordFence has blocked 24 IPs so far this week. It blocked 1 while I was writing this post. I don’t know why anyone would hack my site. I don’t sell anything. I have no money transactions.
    The attack started this week.
What more should I do to keep the barbarians from the gate?

  • 24 attack hits a week is nothing. But it’s always good to stay on the case and do as much defense as possible. Country blocking is a good bet to reduce number of attacks. As for why? Because you are there and evil exists. MTN
