    On our site downloads begin to load but fail before completing — Safari’s error message is “the network connection was lost”.

    Previously downloads had failed to begin but recently they’ve started loading a few bytes before failing.

  • Hello @atdr,

    Would it be possible for you to share with us the link to your downloads so we can test? If you wish to share it privately, you can do so by emailing us at “support@download-monitor.com”.

    Hi @hchouhan,

    Some downloads are available on this page.

    @hchouhan — have you been able to take a look at this? The downloads are still failing.

    @hchouhan — this is still not working. Is there going to be a fix?

    Hey @atdr,

    Sorry for the delay in replying. When I clicked on the download from the link you shared, I got this error:

    Service Unavailable

    PHP did not respond properly to the request. As a result, Apache considers the PHP-FPM service to be unavailable.

    For specific information about the error, see the Apache error log at:

    /srv/users/SYSUSER/log/APPNAME/APPNAME_apache.error.log
    The root cause of this error is often slow PHP code. You should disable any plugins the app is using and check the app's PHP error log and PHP slow request log located at:

    /srv/users/SYSUSER/log/APPNAME/APPNAME_phpX.Y.error.log
    /srv/users/SYSUSER/log/APPNAME/APPNAME_phpX.Y.slow.log

    The error you shared seems to be related to your server. Does directly upload a PDF file on your server and then downloading it works?

    @hchouhan

    The server had run out of RAM when you accessed it—it’s back now and the problem persists.

    The PDFs uploaded by the plugin are unavailable at the URL provided in the WP media browser (like this one) however other files (both images and PDFs) uploaded using the WP media browser are available as expected (example)

    I’m still having issues after the update to 1.9.6

    Is there any progress being made on this?

    Hey @atdr,

    Regarding your last query, when you upload a file using our plugin, it’s uploaded a subfolder within the main WordPress uplaod’s folder. This is done to protect the file from direct access. The download only works when a user uses the dynamic link we create for each download.

    @hchouhan

    I understand how the plugin works, I was just trying to provide as much information as possible.

    I’ve given up on the plugin now and have switched to Delightful Downloads instead, which works fine with my setup.
