After the last wordpress update I’m unable to uplaod SVGs.
The .SVG extansion is active but I keep on getting the error “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons”

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

Thanks for your report; I regret the trouble you are having with SVG uploads.

It looks like this is a WordPress issue, not specific to MLA. Here’s a recent topic with more information:

    WP 4.7.1 Kills SVG

I will investigate further and see if there is anything I can do within MLA to mitigate the problem. I will post an update here when I have progress to report.

I have verified that the SVG upload issue is caused by changes made in WordPress versions 4.7.1 and 4.6.2. They will be fixed in a future WordPress release.

I have uploaded a new MLA Development Version dated 20170113 that contains a workaround for the issue. This Development Version restores SVG uploading without requiring any changes to WordPress code. The fix is only applied when files are uploaded using the Media/Add New (Upload New Media) screen. It does NOT change the behavior of the Media Manager Modal (popup) Window or the drag & drop uploading on the Media/Library submenu.

To get the Development Version, follow the instructions in this earlier topic:

Shortcode not working in (special) widget

It would be great if you could install the Development Version and let me know if it works for you. Thanks again for your report and for your interest in the plugin.

It has been a month since my last post in this topic and I have seen nothing further. I assume you have found a solution with the MLA Development Version or another approach that fits your application.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any questions regarding the MLA solution for the upload issue.
