• Hi there,

Can someone help me asap? I log in on my website and in a few seconds, on every backoffice action I make, it automatically logs out and asks for the password again. It’s been happening for 3 days, I tried to find docs about this and can’t find any.
    Please help!!

  • Hi,

There are a variety of things which can cause this particular issue however they can all be addressed by following some basic troubleshooting procedures:

    1) Check the Settings -> General -> URLs.
WordPress URL and the Site Address have to be exactly the same.

    2) Deactivate any recent plugins.
    3) Empty Cache if you are using a caching plugin.
    4) Clear Browser Cookies.

This could well be a server issue rather than a WordPress one – especially if this problem began when you hadn’t made any changes to the site yourself. Try contacting your hosts and asking them if they will investigate this session issue on your site’s server.

Hi, I’ve been having exactly the same problem as fragas123 since last Friday. Reading through the support forums it seemed that I needed more storage. I got that (at enormous expense!) this morning but it has made no difference. I have followed the advice in the reply above, again to no avail. The request to sign in again has this address: http://ludlowquiltandsew.co.uk/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fludlowquiltandsew.co.uk%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit.php%3Fpost_type%3Dpage&reauth=1. I assume that the ‘redirect’ bit is where the problem lies, but please could someone help me. I’m in despair.

This is most likely related to the cache system, can you try to rename these two files if they are present and see if this solved the issue, you can rename it into anything you want.

Please also try to disable any caching plugins you might have.

Hi. Thank you for replying so quickly. Please forgive my ignorance but I don’t know where to look for those two files. I’m good at quilting but useless at computing. I don’t have any caching plugins. It occurred to me that I updated Updraft Plus last week. I’ve tried to delete it, but I can’t stay logged in long enough for the deletion to work.

I assume your hosting company uses cPanel, if that`s the case this video will show you how to get into the /public_html/ folder and look for the /wp-content/wp-object.php file.

You could also get in touch with your hosting provider, maybe they can give you a hand with this.

Thank you so much. The video looks really clear. I’ll let you know how I get on.
