    I am trying to put information up on my site that students can download-.doc files. I tried just using the media uploader, which has worked for me in the past to do this, but using flash it gets to crunching and never finishes, and with browser the page is down or moved. I have FTPed the files I want into my httpdocs folder on the server, and I was going to just make it a link from there, but I can’t figure out how to do that in wordpress-I’ve only done that in Dreamweaver. Can anybody help? Open to any suggestions as long as the end result is that students can download .docs off my page. Thanks so much!

    Just insert a regular old hyperlink into your post or page.

    This is how to create the link you see above. Just substitute the name of your .doc file for the obvious text, and make sure the url points to the document of your choice.
