• Hi,

I’m new to WordPress and am just getting my site set up. I hope I’m posting my request for advice in the right section!

My site is going to provide information for consumers on the best local brands in my area. I’ll be creating brand profiles. These brand profiles will be static content on my blog.

I would like to make a searchable directory for the brand profiles that I write (something similar to this: http://garmentdistrict.nyc/fashion/fashion-directory/?trade_categories=&showrooms=&q=). I would like the following features on my directory:

-Search by letter/organize by letter (i.e., use alphabetical pagination) (kind of like this site:https://www.therealreal.com/designers)
-customized search filters (e.g., by type of product: “beauty”, “accessories”)
-search by keyword that the user types in (e.g., “cotton”)

Once the user has found what they’re looking for, I’d like the results to be displayed just by brand name. The user could then click on the brand they want to know more about, and the link would take them to the brand profile page that I’ve created.

Do you have any recommendations for a good directory plugin to meet my needs? I’ve done a few hours research on different plugins, including Toolset. Has anyone used Toolset? Is it worth the cost? Am I misunderstanding what sort of plugin I need? Do I just need a simple filter and search plugin?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
