• I received my domain name as a gift. http://www.XXXXXXXXXXX.com (example)

The person who gave me the gift told me to install WordPress using my cpanel, which went just fine. I installed it on a page such as http://www.XXXXXXXXXXX.com/blog

However, I see that it actually installed with no ‘www’ in front of it, so family has to go to XXXXXXXXXX.com/blog to see the blog and type in a ‘www’ to see the rest of the site (for anything not yet linked, of course.)

Call me anal or insane, but this little thing drives me crazy, LOL. Is there an easy fix for this? Such as simply going to the options tab at my admin page and adding a ‘www’ in wordpress and blog address spots? Or is it much more involved then that, and not worth the trouble.

And is there anyway for this blog to not show up on internet search engines? Sorry, I know these are probably stupid questions, but I am fairly new to this. 🙂

    Thanks!
    Jen

  • 1. Your blog is in a folder or directory cllaed “blog” – not on a page. Just to make it clear.

    2. Yes, you can change the two URL values to have www in them. Although it is obsolete and useless… but if you like it, go ahead.
