• After updating MailChimp plugin, Inget the following error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/kinkiepi/public_html/goodies/plugins/mailchimp/lib/mailchimp/mailchimp.php on line 21

Now the entire site is down as well as my landing page.

    Respectfully,
    Ivan

    Hello Ivan,

I’m very sorry that happened. Our plugin’s folder is not named “mailchimp” and it doesn’t have a file called “mailchimp.php”

I did a search and it looks like this is the plugin you are using:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/mailchimp/

Try posting your issue there any hopefully they will be able to help you.

In the meantime, if you have FTP access to your account, you can

    • go into /wp-content/plugins/
    • Look for the “mailchimp” folder
    • Rename it “mailchimp-bkp”

That will deactivate the plugin and get your site back online. After the authors of the other plugin help you, you can rename the folder back to “mailchimp” and activate it again.

    I hope this is helpful!
    -Tracy
