• I upgraded my multisite to 4.7 and mostly, everything is fine. I did create a new site with a twentyseventeen child theme and when I go to customize, I am receiving this error where the editable website should be —

    Non-existent changeset UUID.

    — all the controls are there and they work. Just that error where the image should be.

Now, I used twentyseventeen on another site in the same multisite network and the customize works fine. It is the same as this site – twentyseventeen child theme, same exact child theme setup. That site works fine, but this site is giving me this changeset UUID error when I go to the customizer. I switched to the base twentyseventeen theme, and then the customize works.

    I can’t imagine what I did.

I am going to create a new child theme and see if that fixes it.

    Any thoughts?

Now, all my sites are giving me that error in the customizer.

I upgraded my server in MT. I didn’t realize it at the time, but instead of giving me an actual IP address, MT gave me a “Web server address” – (This is what Securi plugin tells me) the address looked a bit funny, so I think that may be true.

Could that be creating this error?

    Thanks,
    Denise

Okay, I have been freaking out. Thought something was seriously wrong with my server. BUT, I figured out how to get around the problem at least:

When I go into my multisite setup, which uses the directory structure as opposed to the sub-domain structure, and I go to the cusomizer in any site with the http://multidomain.com/oneofmysites/wp-admin url, the error occures – Non-existent changeset UUID.

BUT, when I go to that site using the actual URL admin to login to wordpress http://oneofmysites.com/wp-admin, it works!

Problem solved. I never use the stupid cusomizer anyway.

    Hope this helps someone else.

In multi site try tinkering with ‘My sites->Network Admin->sites->all sites’ Then hoover over a site and select ‘edit’. In ‘info’ and ‘settings’ the URLs either contains the multi site base info embedded or not. I find that when the multi site info is included in the URL I get the ‘Non-existent changeset UUID.’ error but when the URL in those entries is just the domain URL everything works OK and I can see the customizer display. This is not a definitive answer but it is a clue along the way.
