I am getting the following error even though shell_exec is enabled. Please help

EWWW Image Optimizer requires exec() or an API key. Your system administrator has disabled the exec() function, ask them to enable it.

shell_exec() is not the same as exec(). The latter is what EWWW IO uses, it doesn’t make any use of the shell_exec() function.

exec() is also not disabled on my server.

Please turn on EWWW’s debug option, and post the debugging information from the settings page via pastebin.com (or use code tags).
