Hi

I have been trying to add a search item to the header menu. Preferably collapsible like the adminbar-search.

I have tried a few changes to header.php and parts/header-top.php in a child theme. No success.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Hello bb-4,

Replace your child theme’s header.php code with this header.php

Note: Backup your header.php file.

thanks @saurabhdhariwal … it works.

I would like adjust it some and make a search icon that expands when clicked. Similar to what is used on this site when logged in.

@bb-4 – Sorry for the delayed response. Actually this is something that falls under theme customization and you’d need to edit the PHP/HTML/CSS of the theme to accommodate for that. We do have another theme that has the search icon in the main nav if you’re interested: http://www.lyrathemes.com/preview/?theme=sirius-pro
