Yahoo-hosted blog gone
-
My yahoo-hosted blog (http://pharmaweblog.com) spontaneously “disappeared” from view about 2 days ago. I get a blank page. I hadn’t touched the blog since 6 days ago. I noticed a bunch of html spam files in the root folder when I logged into the blog root directory (I deleted all of them). Was my blog hacked?
I am unable to get into the usual WordPress admin panel. When I look into the snapshots in the yahoo manager, I see that the wp-admin and wp-includes are both missing from the current blog snapshot.
Wp-content is present in the current snapshot, and I am able to read and restore blog posts from the cache folder using the restore function. It appears that snapshots of all my posts (since 2005) are present here. I still can’t “see” any of the psots on the web, however, even after restoring.
In the phpMyAdmin folder accessed via ftp I can see a tar.gz-archived MySQL database modified on the day prior to my last post. I believe I can gain access to phpMyAdmin functionality by subscribing to it on yahoo if there’s a way it can be used to help me here.
I don’t anticipate getting any yahoo support, becasue they have denied me any WordPress support in the past.
I appreciate any help to recover my blog. If it would help get the blog up quickly, I’d be willing to move the blog to a new host.
