I updated All In One WP Security today and was locked out of my site — could not log in. I deactivated the plugin and was able to log back into my site. I deleted the version I had and downloaded the new version, but experienced the same issue.

Hi, can you let me know whether you have enabled one of the Brute Force features? Did you receive any error messages?

    Thank you

    Hi weblady1 & mbrsolution,
This happened to me too today, where the system did not recognise my log-in details; a message appeared above the log-in panel requesting for cookies to be enabled. After some head scratching as to what this meant, I discovered that by enabling my browser to allow my website’s access, I was able to log-in. I can only assume that AIOWPS plugin has caused this, even though I have not enabled ‘cookie based brute force login prevention’? Am I correct here? please advise.
I still find this to be a great plugin with diverse features!
    Many thanks

@pjaberi I am curious to know more about this messages in your browser. Can you provide more information regarding the following message.

I discovered that by enabling my browser to allow my website’s access,

    Thank you

Thanks for following this up. I share your curiosity.
As I said, it was a message above the WordPress log-in box, which came up twice and NOT on every failed attempt, requesting for cookies to be enabled, directing me to this link:
    https://codex.wordpress.org/Cookies
I hope this gives some clue.

    It’s happening again right now!
I have a screenshot of the said panel, but not sure how I can share it here.

I could not see your screen shot.

Are you sure this is not related to one of your other plugins? Can you also check the plugin log files under Dashboard -> AIOWPS Logs.

As I mentioned above I don’t know how to share the screenshot on this forum. The only option I can see is the ‘img’ tab requesting a URL, but I do not have a URL for the image. What am I missing?

I am certain that this has nothing to do with my other plugins. I discussed the case with my host also and they pointed out that “AIOWPS’s plugin has created a heavy .htaccess which is likely overriding the server security rules!”. I have deactivated the plugin now twice and I can confirm that as soon as I activate it again it allows the blocked IP ranges to access the site with no problem. I do realise that I need to perhaps open a new ticket separately for the latter.

I have also checked the logs as you advised and they’re empty!

    Any advice will be great.

Hi, please create a new support thread for the later. There are many tools online that allow you to share images.

    Who is your host?

    Hi,

    Thanks for following this up.

The issue has continued to present itself and I had to disable some of the features to resolve the issues. Great shame.

    Best wishes

Hi, which features did you have to disable?

    Hi,
For security purposes, I would rather not give the exact details here, but I can confirm that some of the features which I had to disable are in the number 10 & 11 sections/tabs of the plugin menu.
    Thanks

AIOWPS update works fine on my other domains, but is apparently conflicting with another updated plug-in on just one domain. I run my own dedicated server.

    Hi @weblady1,

AIOWPS […] is apparently conflicting with another updated plug-in on just one domain.

Is this a plugin from plugins directory? If so, let us know and we’ll check, if anything can be done to avoid the conflict.

I only use plugins from WordPress plugins directory.
