Could I emulate this site using WordPress?

    It is certainly doable, but it depends entirely on your skill level. That site is actually hacked together using a combination of tables and css. WP would generate cleaner code, but this is probably not a project for a noob.

    Chrisber, could you comment on how you would achieve the different sidebars?

    I was under the impression that there was one sidebar that was called through PHP. How would you customize it on every section like she has?

    It’s not something that can be contained in a comment, and it would be well beyond my skill level to do it anyway. It would involve creating an entirely new set of php template files. As I said before, not a project for a noob.

    What Chrisber said. It is do-able. And yes, you can create more than one sidebar – dynamic or hardcoded – for the site.
