    SVI Version: 3.1.8.11
    Woocommerce Version:2.6.7
    All other plugins disabled.
    Host 123-reg, php 5.6
    http://94.136.40.103/~tigerfrog.co.uk/wordpress_tiger_frog/shop/

I have set-up SVi as per the instructions. I have set-up SVI on another website, using the same hosting and it works 100% correctly

However, when SVI is activated on this website, I get the following message on all product pages:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘, expecting ‘)’ in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/ti/ge/rf/tigerfrog.co.uk/public_html/wordpress_tiger_frog/wp-content/plugins/smart-variations-images/frontend/display.php on line 15

I have tried using previous versions of both SVI and Woocommerce, but nothing can fix it.

I have read other forum posts and seen that php version can be an issue, but I’m using the same php and hosting for a website where SVI works fine.

Do you have any ideas please?

    Thanks.

    WP Version 4.6.1
Currently on woocommerce 4.6.7, having downgraded from 4.6.8 (woocommerce 4.6.7 and SVI 3.1.8.11 are what I’m using together on site that does work)

Here’s link to other website where it does work – same theme. I’ve tried changing theme with issue website too, with no luck. http://ilovemypooch.co.uk/shop/

I’m not 100% sure, but I think SVI was working before I followed an alert saying [something like]: ‘to make sure SVI is working properly, reset all and re-activate’. I haven’t followed this advice on working website.

    Hi,

Following on the subject maybe you are using outdated php version, try using php 5.6

    Hi,

    We are currently using php5.6

The 2 websites share the same hosting package and are therefore both using the same php, so I don’t think this is the issue.

Hi guess you will have to debug a bit…

The correct way to debug would be to deactivate all plugins except SVI and WooCommerce and check that it works, from there you activate the other plugins 1 by 1 until you see witch one breaks.

    Thanks,
    David

Hi, I’ve done this already. Maybe I should go back, debug again, re-install previous versions of both woocommerce and SVI and see if I can find a combination of previous versions that works. I’ve done this too, so not hopeful, but maybe I missed something?

    Hi David,
thank you for your suggestions – these allowed me to rule everything out. I approached my hosting company explaining issues and how I thought it was a php issue and they resolved the issue by manually updating the php to 5.6 (despite it showing 5.6 in my dashboard).

So thank you very much for your help and I’ll be upgrading to PRO soon.

Sometimes that does happen, great news!
