Ofcourse they show on the mainpage, but when you click on either a post or the comment we have a problem.

    bump

From what version did you upgrade?
Did you re-upload your custom theme files?
Did you upload the default theme file from the upgrade version? If so, check if your links are working there.
    – If it is working, then the problem could be some deprecated tags in your custom theme.
    – If it is not working even in the latest default theme, then re-upload wp-admin folder, wp-includes folder, and root files.
    Good luck.

    I upgraded from 2.3.4
I did not re upload my custom theme files. I just left them there since I had just downloaded them and they where already updated.
Do I need to delete them and upload my custom theme files again? Could that be why?
When I now deleted the default theme and uploaded a fresh one I still have the same problem.
Not only with the post, the comment but also with the “older post link” http://www.jonnasdetaljer.se/page/2/

    It says:
    http://www.jonnasdetaljer.se/page/2/

You have requested a page or object that was not found on the server. This may be the result of a typo or broken link.

Error 404 Not Found (File does not exist: /page/2/)”

Sounds like Pretty Permalinks isn’t turned on. Go into your WP Dashboard, on the right side, click “Settings” and then “Permalinks” to restore your previous permalink structure, although as far as I can remember, WP doesn’t usually disturb those settings on upgrade.

    (@konradti)

    Nope, tried that before.
And that shouldn’t affect the “next page” part anyway, should it?

    Thread Starter konradti

    (@konradti)

But now that I tried it again it says like this:
“You should update your .htaccess now.”

    Does that bring any clarity?

    Thread Starter konradti

    (@konradti)

I have now re-uploaded the wp-admin folder, wp-includes folder, and root files.
    Still the same problem

There must be someone out there that can help me?

“You should update your .htaccess now.”

If you saw the same message earlier, then you weren’t successful in running the pretty permalinks script in the first place. CHMOD .htaccess to 777, run permalinks, then CHMOD .htaccess back to 644.

    (@konradti)

Mercime: That sounds great, but I dont get a thing.
What am I suppose to do?
Could you break it down for me?

    Thread Starter konradti

    (@konradti)

Where is .htaccess suppose to be? Which folder?

Which program do I use to see what my htaccess file contains?
If it is notepad it contains nothing…

.htaccess is in your root. Specifically your WP root. You access it via your FTP program (how you transfer files to your server). CHMOD shouldn’t be a strange term for you if you have used an FTP program. It’s generally how you transfer plugins and themes to your WP site. Make sense?

    Thread Starter konradti

    (@konradti)

jonimueller – yes. It makes sense. But what does mean “777” and “644” that mercime mentions?
Is that something I should put in my htaccess?

    Thread Starter konradti

    (@konradti)

Please – anybody – help me. We’re so close now!

Which FTP software are you using to upload your files into your blog? In that software, find your .htaccess file and right-click it. You should have an entry called ‘file attributes’ or ‘CHMOD’ or ‘Permissions.’

In that window, there is probably a 3-digit number that corresponds to the level of security and accessibility assigned to that file. In most cases, the number will be 644 (limited access) – if you change the number to 777, then the fill will have full, unlimited access.
