    Hi there,
I’ve created a second sidebar I would like to use for my archives. I put the include code in the archives.php file and the space for it is showing up (YAY!)

My problem is that when I go to Design>Widgets – and then in the right box under “Current Widgets” the drop down menu that reads “Sidebar 1”. I click down but do not see Sidebar 2.

I am guessing there is another step I need to take in order for WordPress to recognize that I made this sidebar. What is that step?

  • There are some more steps, the default theme is actually a more complex theme to customize but a great learning tool 🙂

You’re in luck, there’s a good tutorial by Themelab.com that is just great for the default theme and would be easy for you to follow. Cheers.
