    Hi

    I am using theme Twenty Sixteen on a new installation of WordPress on Windows Server 2012R2. I have not installed any plugins.

    I am unable to add a header image. This is what I did:

    Appearance->Header->Header Image->Add New Image
    Select the image in the Media Library.
    Click Select and Crop
    The image is not displayed in Crop Image – page is blank apart from a message “Image crop area preview. Required mouse interaction”.
    Select and Crop is the only available button and it does nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    I recommend asking in this theme’s dedicated support sub-forum for better results so its developers and users can help you with this:

    Hi, this isn’t a theme-related problem. I get the same issue if I swap themes to Twenty Fifteen and Twenty Fourteen.

    I have also now discovered that menus aren’t working either: I can create a menu but it doesn’t display.

    It suggests to me that something isn’t configured correctly. I didn’t get any errors during installation.

    Turns out the problem was folder permissions.

    I granted write permission to local users to the wp-content\uploads folder and that sorted it.
